Principal’s Message
Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year, Lovell Wildcats!
Message from Principal Maldonado
Dear Lovell Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year at Lovell Elementary, where we are “Building Our Way to an A!” As your new principal, I am thrilled to join this vibrant community of learners, educators, and families. It is an honor to serve alongside you as we continue the momentum of academic growth and excellence.
I come to Lovell with nearly a decade of experience in school leadership and a deep passion for student success. Born in Chicago, raised in the Bronx, and proudly rooted in Puerto Rican heritage, I bring with me a strong belief in the power of culture, community, and connection. I’m also the proud mom of three amazing teens and a pup named Azul, who remind me daily of why this work matters.
At Lovell, we are Wildcats who ROAR—showing Respect, Ownership, Attitude, and Responsibility in everything we do. These core values help us create a safe and positive school environment where every student can thrive.
This year, our construction theme is more than a metaphor—it’s our mindset. We are laying down strong foundations, reinforcing our supports, and reaching new academic heights together. Last year, we “leveled up” through our gaming theme, celebrating growth and achievement across campus. Last year, we leveled up, and this year, we’re building toward an A—brick by brick, day by day.
As we focus on family engagement, academic achievement, and a positive school culture, I invite you to partner with us. I believe, as Rita Pierson once said, that “every child needs a champion; an adult who will never give up on them.” That’s the kind of principal I strive to be—and the kind of school we are building at Lovell.
Here’s to a year of hard hats, high fives, and high standards. Let’s build something extraordinary—together.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Maldonado
Principal, Lovell Elementary
